Space Experience

INETEC has participated in several ESA-related projects that extend its expertise in inspection, robotics, and advanced diagnostics into the space domain. Its ESA PECS project MATEA focuses on the development of ultrasonic non-destructive testing solutions for future lunar and Martian habitats. The company has also worked on a compact multispectral imaging camera for lunar geological and mineralogical mapping, machine learning for defect detection in carbon fibre reinforced polymer materials relevant to space structures, and a hybrid bionic locomotion concept for lunar exploration. Related work for ITER and other harsh-environment systems is also directly relevant as transferable know-how for future space applications.

Collaboration Needs

INETEC is seeking collaboration with universities, research institutes, ESA system integrators, and specialized test facilities that can support extreme-environment testing, low-gravity simulation, modelling of acoustic wave propagation, and adaptation of electronics and robotics for harsh space conditions. The company is also interested in follow-up ESA and international projects involving lunar and Martian habitats, exploration systems, advanced inspection technologies, and space-relevant material diagnostics.
