Overview

Dots & Lines is a Zagreb-based technology company developing AI-supported scheduling and optimisation solutions. The company's core strengths are digital twins, mathematical modelling, optimisation algorithms, workforce scheduling, and transport optimisation, including in safety-critical environments. The company positions itself as a specialist in solving difficult operational planning problems, with experience implementing complex business rules and delivering practical optimisation tools for real-world users across sectors such as air traffic control, schools, truck, rail, and maritime transport, as well as various other scheduling-intensive organisations. A cross-cutting digital capability provider whose relevance to the space sector comes through advanced scheduling, operations research, and optimisation logic rather than through traditional aerospace hardware. The company is exploring space-related use cases in observatory scheduling, satellite ground-station scheduling, and fast-response multimessenger astronomy operations.

Space Experience

Dots & Lines is developing a concept for dynamic scheduling optimisation of satellite ground stations to enable them to better utilise their antennae while satisfying all technical and business constraints. A similar, but separate, proof-of-concept focuses on dynamic scheduling optimisation of follow-up and Target-of-Opportunity alerts for astronomical observatories. The proposed solution, Dynamic Observation Scheduling System (DOSS), is aimed at multimessenger and time-domain astronomy operations.

Collaboration Needs

Dots & Lines is looking for partners with satellite ground stations, telescopes, and astronomical observatories, and with expertise in astronomy operations, to help model operational constraints, validate use cases, and develop real-world applications of its scheduling technology. It is particularly interested in collaborations related to satellite communications, astronomical observatory scheduling, follow-up observations, and fast-response scientific networks.
